Characteristics:	Freestanding bronze sculpture in a vertical format, mounted on a separate polished black marble base. Description:	With Formworker, Antonio Oteiza turns his attention to one of the most fundamental yet often overlooked professions in construction. Before concrete is poured or walls begin to rise, the formworker creates the structure that will support everything that follows. The sculpture celebrates this quiet but indispensable role. The figure stands firmly beside two vertical boards. One hand rests on the timber while the other holds a working tool. Rather than pursuing anatomical realism, Oteiza concentrates on posture, volume and presence. The worker's identity is conveyed through the strength of the sculptural form rather than through facial detail. The wooden boards are far more than descriptive elements. They extend the sculpture vertically, balance the composition and introduce the material that defines the trade itself. Their clean, geometric surfaces create a deliberate dialogue with the textured modelling of the bronze figure. More than the representation of a single profession, Formworker becomes a tribute to all those whose work remains largely unseen.
