Estella-Lizarra City Council visits the Museum Ciriza Oteiza as construction enters its final stage
The Mayor of Estella-Lizarra, Marta Ruiz de Alda, accompanied by Councillor for Culture Ana Duarte and Councillor for Tourism Cristina Pérez González, visited the Museum Ciriza Oteiza this week to see first-hand the progress of a project set to become one of the city's leading cultural landmarks.
The municipal representatives were welcomed by Carlos Coca, Provincial Minister of the Capuchin Friars, together with the driving forces behind the project, Carlos and Beatriz Ciriza. During the tour, they were able to see the completed construction work on the museum building and learn about the progress of the future sculpture park, which will complement the complex's artistic programme.
The visit was an initial meeting ahead of a broader institutional gathering with the full Municipal Corporation. Beyond reviewing the progress of the works, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the cultural, educational and tourism opportunities that the Museum Ciriza Oteiza can bring to Estella-Lizarra and the surrounding region.
Conceived as a space dedicated to artistic creation and to promoting the sculptural legacy of Antonio Oteiza and Carlos Ciriza, the museum is moving steadily towards its opening, establishing itself as an initiative of particular significance for the city's cultural life. The integration of the building with the future sculpture park will help create a new space where art, heritage and the community can come together.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual understanding, highlighting a shared commitment to continue promoting projects that strengthen Estella-Lizarra's cultural and tourism profile and contribute to the preservation and dissemination of its artistic heritage.
